Sad Songs and Alcohol

by Jo Henley

Released in April 2008, this was the record that put Jo Henley on the map. Full of memorable hooks, shimmering guitars, and fiery fiddle, as well as the first JH record to feature bassist Tony Markellis, best known for his work as a co-founding and current member of the Trey Anastasio Band, Sad Songs and Alcohol enjoyed national and international airplay and spent nearly 6 months on the Americana Music Association (AMA) charts' Top 100--without any label support.

Recorded at by Tim Lynch The Recording Company, Schenectady, NY. Produced by Tim Lynch. Additional engineering by Rick Sullivan.

Andy Campolieto (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica), Ben Lee (acoustic and electric guitars, dobro, banjo, lap steel, vocals), Tony Markellis (bass), Tien-Yi Lee (drums), Tim Weed (fiddle, mandolin).

Sad Songs & Alcohol is available for purchase on CD and as a digital download.
